HGTV GO - Stream Live TV App Reviews

I LOVE hgtv, and was excited to get the app on my tv. However every time I try to watch, my show freezes a few minutes into it. I have to go out and restart. Also, please PLEASE dont show me the same commercial SIX times during one episode!!!! And then an extra two more times when I have to restart because of all the bugs. Please put some effort into fixing the bugs so people actually want to use your app!! (My show just froze again for the third time as I type this, and I am in the first 10 minutes!!). Grrrr!

I like to use it when all there is on live TV is politics, disaster, murder, talk shows of no significance, etc.

I love that I get to watch the shows whenever I want but it will not let me cast it to my tv. It just sits there going in circles with the HGTV symbol on my tv. I tried my other apps to make sure it wasnt my phone and all of my other apps that I cast with are working. Its really frustrating.

I love HGTV however this app on the Apple TV is not user-friendly. From the moment you open it up its awkward and too forceful. As soon as you open it videos are forced into your face and start playing without you selecting them to play. But perhaps the biggest oddity of the whole app is that by default, episodes are played from newest to oldest! Who watches a season backwards?? It should play from oldest to newest!!! You cant even change it if you wanted to. There is no setting to play oldest to newest. Somebody at HGTV really screwed this user experience up.

In addition to the normal difficulty logging on, theyve now dropped Google Fiber - NOT from normal access, its just disappeared as a selection on the app. Can still access from desktop, just not IOS.

This app used to work, but since the last update, I can no longer sign-on. All of the apps from Scripps are broken this way. The sign on screen pops up for a fraction of a second and closes right down. This is no way to support an app.

I can never get enough of HGTV

The app will stream things flawlessly but randomly not want to continue streaming. also theres not that many episodes to watch of each show which kinda bugs me. wish there was continued streaming and entire seasons

Constantly freezes up when starting app. Cant tap anything because it doesnt work. I have to keep restarting the app to get it to work. Always crashes 15 mins into a show when I try and cast it. Id really like to enjoy streaming HGTV shows but cant. Or I just close it out and start watching another app that actually works.

Loved the app initially, very easy to use and never had an issue. Then came the update...live tv tries to play automatically and crashes the app before I can choose what I want to watch. Im closing and restarting the app constantly, most of the time not worth the hassle and I give up.

So many bugs. Including the fact that the live TV constantly stops working on the Apple TV. You are forced to quit the app and relaunch constantly

This app is almost useless. It crashes constantly. The HGTV channel is awesome and I love their shows but this app paints that network in a terrible light. If this is the best they can do to get their programming to their customers, then they have serious issues!!

Third attempt at getting logged on. Have to uninstall and reinstall each time. Used to work. Guess its not keeping up with iOS updates.

I love this app! All my favorite shows in one place! I stream it to Apple TV! Thank you!!!

Tried signing in several times over the past months with my DirecTV login and it never works. My login works with HBOGo, Showtime, STARZ, etc... Its a shame a big media company cant find the time or talent to tackle this.

If you have ATT U-Verse as your TV provider dont waste your time downloading the app because you will not be authorized to watch it on your Apple TV.

I love watching this app n catching up on shows

I love HGTV and having the cable access to view all shows is a definite plus. Only problem with this app is that whenever I try to cast the programming to my TV it crashes and disconnects randomly. I dont have this issue with any other chrome cast capable apps, so I hope this issue gets fixed soon!

It has been my daily watch for the last three weeks. Love it!
